Beading Classes
All students wanting to take Beading Classes must either purchase a focal bead from SGAA's gallery OR take these classes in conjunction with a glassmaking class. These classes are good for people of all ages and run with a minimum of 3 students. Bring your own accent beads, clasps, bails and tools to class if you want to use them!
***Every student who comes to participate in glass making classes is required to wear eye protection and closed toed shoes. No exceptions will be made!***

Beginner Level Classes:
Basic Wire Wrapping (BC 100)

Faculty Instructor: Jane McClarren
This class will teach you the skills to make your glass art cabochons into useable jewelry pieces! You will learn how to wrap using base metal wire first then students can move onto using precious metal wire. You will learn several different techniques for wrapping. Materials fee includes wire and beads/pearls/crystals for accents. Take this class with: Dichroic for Jewelry (WS 101) or Advanced Dichroic (WS 300).

Macrame Bail Pendant (BC 101)

This is not your Mother’s macramé! Students will create a macramé stitch bail using polished nylon bead cord to compliment your focal bead. Finish off your pendant with beads added to the fringe. Materials fee includes: C-Lon cord (variety of colors), collar for hanging, and accent beads. Students should bring a lampwork or Dichroic (center hole) focal bead. Take this class with: Advanced Dichroic (WS 300), Beginning Beadmaking (FS 101-E), Intermediate Beadmaking (FS 200-E), Aquatic Beads (FS 201-E) or Silver Reactive Beads (FS 300-E). 
Lariat Necklace (BC 102)

This is a basic bead stringing design that puts your focal bead out there to be noticed! The Lariat Necklace is an easy to wear design that goes great with blue jeans or can be dressed up to wear out for the evening. Materials fee includes: SoftFlex beading wire, seed beads, teardrop beads and 2 glass accent beads for tassel ends. If time permits, we will bead a pair of matching earrings. Students should bring a lampwork or Dichroic (center hole) focal bead; 1-1/2 - 3” in length, oblong or rectangular shape. Take this class with: see suggested classes under Macramé Bail Pendant class.

Multi-strand Bracelet (BC 200)

This design is great for showing off your favorite large focal bead. Students will do 12-strands of basic bead stringing with a mix of seed beads and accent bars of Peyote stitch (taught in class). Students may bring their own small clasp or they will be available for purchase. Students should bring a lampwork or Dichroic (center hole) focal bead; ¾ - 1” in length. The Spiral pattern is an extremely versatile stitch that creates a fun, elegant necklace to accent your favorite pendant! Bring a wire wrapped pendant with a large bail or any other focal bead with a large hole. If you would like to use a fused Dichroic cabochon as your focal bead, make sure you take Basic Wire Wrapping (BC 100) before enrolling in this class. Materials fee includes: needle, beading thread, seed beads for necklace. Take this class with: Dichroic for Jewelry (WS 101), Advanced Dichroic for Jewelry (WS 300), Beginning Beadmaking (FS 101-E), Intermediate Beadmaking (FS 200-E), Aquatic Beads (FS 201-E) or Silver Reactive Beads (FS 300-E).
Jangle Bracelet (BC 202)

This bracelet gets its fringed look using 2-sided spinner spacer beads with accent beads attached. We will attach accent beads using a basic wire-wrapping technique; take Basic Wire Wrapping (BC 100) before enrolling in this class. Materials fee includes: Soft-flex, clasp, 4 spinners, metal spacer beads, seed and accent beads. Tools will be provided for students to use during class.
