Stained Glass Classes
Our Stained Glass classes are great for people of all ages who want to try their hand at glass projects that do not involve a heat source. We use sheet glass of any type as well as lead came and/or copper foil to create projects. Feel free to bring some of your own materials to class!
***Every student who comes to participate in glass making classes is required to wear eye protection and closed toed shoes. No exceptions will be made!***

Beginner Level Classes:
Glass Cutting Intensive (SG 100)

This class is great for fusers and stained glass artists alike! We guarantee that after this class you will be ready to take on cutting any shape you can imagine! Learn to cut circles, arcs, and other complex forms. This class will also utilize a variety of glass cutting tools, including pistol grip glass cutters, custom grip glass cutters, grossing pliers, running pliers, and breaking pliers. SGAA has many of these tools for sale. No experience necessary.

4 Tuesdays, 6 - 9pm (12 hours)

You can build stained glass panels!! Students will complete one 12x16 flat piece of your design or you can use one of our patterns. Students will learn lead caming techniques from start to finish, including: cutting glass according to your design, using lead caming to compose your piece, soldering lead caming, and cementing and polishing your finished piece. This class tuition includes all supplies for 1 flat project plus 6 hours of rental time. No prior experience required. Return students welcome. Lead Caming project

Techniques in Copper Foil (SG 200)

In this class, you will expand upon your basic stained glass skills by making two 3-D projects: a jewelry box and a kaleidoscope. You will be amazed by the glass art pieces you can create! Your class tuition will include all supplies for both projects plus 6 hours of rental time. Prerequisite: Techniques in Lead Caming or equivalent.

This class will teach students how to cut shapes, foil glass, and solder pieces together to make 2 lifelike glass cacti. Students will create a cactus garden out of prickly pears, saguaros, barrel cacti, and agaves. Students should bring a decorative pot to "plant" their cacti in. Or combine these projects with a Mosaic Flower Pots class to create your complete glass art creation! Glass not included, but will be available for purchase. Prerequisite: Techniques in Lead Caming or equivalent.

Sunday, 12 - 4pm (4 hours)

Do you want to learn creative ways to enhance your stained glass creations? Have you tried soldering and get lumps and bumps? In this class, students will learn decorative soldering solutions to use on their stained glass projects. Bring your soldering iron, temperature controller, flux, solder and a copper foil piece (approximately 12"x12") that is ready to solder. Alysa will show you the tricks of the trade to get beautiful, decorative results with solder! Prerequisite: Techniques in Copper Foil or equivalent.
