PREREQUISITE: Beginning Beads or Instructor Approval
Learn to make eye canes on the first day of class. We will begin making simple one color iris eyes, then finish with making a dragon eye cane. A third “evil eye” cane will also be taught, if time permits.
On Day Two, students will begin sculpting a human head. In class we will explore proper proportions to create a more realistic style head bead.
Soft glass will be used in this class. However, borosilicate users are welcome to take this class as the same techniques are used in both types of glass.
Beginning Beads or Instructor Approval required to take this class.
Session I: July 22 & 23, 2017 / Saturday & Sunday / 10AM-2PM
Session II: September 31 – October 1, 2017 / Saturday & Sunday / 10AM-2PM
There is a $30 material fee for this class; payable on the first day of class.
This class requires protective eye wear which will be provided by SGS. All students must wear close-toed shoes and cotton clothing is recommended.
After your first class you are welcome to sign up for practice time during our discounted open studio times on Thursdays from 12pm-4pm and Fridays from 5pm-9pm.
Class is subject to change if minimum number of students is not met.
