Flame Shop Classes
.jpg) Our flame shop is equipped with eight Nortel major burners, plenty of tools, and both Moretti and borosilicate glass. Learn how to create vibrant soft glass beads or Borosilicate sculptural forms, including marbles and goblets. Classes are limited to eight students to allow for ample one-on-one instruction. Take a class with our skilled staff instructors, or enroll in one of our year-round specialty workshops taught by visiting world-renowned glass artists.

Faculty Instructor
This class will focus on using Moretti, a traditional Italian soft glass. After an overview of safety fundamentals, we will move on to basic beads, shaping, color application and design. This is a great class to learn the essentials of lampworking. No prior experience required.
Fall Beginning Beadmaking

Faculty Instructor
This class is a seven-week intensive beadmaking course. We will go over torch safety and move on to basic beadmaking, shaping, color application and design. Students will refine their skills and improve the shape, design, and use of color in their work. The class will go on to explore ornate surface decorations and how to work with cane and lattachino. The class will provide plenty of demonstrations and one-on-one instruction. No prior experience required.

This class is a great introductory class for students who want to make sculptural forms with Borosilicate glass, a harder, more forgiving glass than Moretti. This class will focus on rotation and color application in solid forms, then move onto hollow forms using tubing. No experience necessary, bring your sculptural ideas! Some flameworking experience helpful, bring your sculptural ideas!
