Get fired up for a new Hot Shop season with this lecture and demonstration! Join us for “Up in Flames: the chemistry of fire,” an event that combines glassblowing, colorful fire, and chemistry.
The lecture will address such questions as “How do various chemicals react to hot glass and fire?,” “What is fire’s chemical composition?”, and “How is chemistry used to color glass?”
The demonstration will explore how various chemicals respond to fire and how those reactions can be used for creative expression.
